“QueerFest” is a Student Pride Weekend organised by the University of Glasgow LGBT Association. They are inviting many Universities from all over Scotland, as well as a few from south of the border, and it promises to be fantastic.
Just a few of the events on the top secret agenda are a Mardi Gras themed night in both of the student unions, film screenings and brunch during which to recuperate, informative workshops and an event organised alongside G1, who own most of the gay bars and clubs in Glasgow and have promised free entry and reserved spaces for people attending QueerFest.
The whole weekend is going to be fun, exciting and of course informative; Glasgow Uni LGBT Association is trying to reach out to as many people as possible by making all of the events inclusive. If there are any concerns about accommodation, Glasgow has some fairly cheap hostels available, which the LGBT associations will be happy to send out links for and, depending on numbers, they can possibly offer sleeping places in student flats – get in touch using the e-mail address provided.
