A Fantastic Woman

To celebrate LGBT History Month, Pride Saltire is delighted to be working in partnership with The Brunton in Musselburgh.

A vision of defiant resistance, club singer Marina's (Daniela Vega) life, is shattered by the death of her beloved partner, Orlando (Francisco Reyes). Having informed Orlando's family of the tragedy, Marina is met with suspicion and hostility due to her status as a trans woman. Instead of being comforted during her grief, Marina must fight for her home, her rights and even custody of a beloved pet dog.

Anchored by Vega's exceptional performance, A Fantastic Woman is a profound and visually powerful film. Chilean director Sebastián Lelio (Gloria) returns with this provocatively queer, emotionally rich and vibrant drama.
