Heavier than Air

‘Heavier than Air’ is a theatre play based on interview data from research conducted with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) teachers working in different educational settings in Australia. Since 2015, this play, devised by Anne Harris (RMIT University) and Stacy Holman Jones (Monash University), has been staged in Australia, Singapore, USA, and Scotland.

For this event, ‘Heavier than Air’ becomes part of the LGBT History Month Scotland and the Festival of Creative Learning at the University of Edinburgh as a theatre play-public lecture in which performing arts are used as a medium to communicate research in an accessible way to a wider audience. Anne Harris and Stacy Holman Jones, authors of the play, will be discussing, alongside with the director and cast of the play, the ways in which qualitative research and performing arts converge to rethink research methodologies and research communication in humanities and social sciences.

The Centre for Creative-Relational Inquiry proudly hosts.
