Pride: Screening & discussion panel

In a world that can be tense and unsafe for members of the LGBTQ+ community, it's vital that we focus on intersectionality.

Edinburgh University Staff Pride Network and PrideSoc (the LGBTQ+ society) are co-hosting a panel and screening of Pride (2014), which follows the story of lesbian and gay activists standing in solidarity with the British miner's strike of 1984. We've chosen this film to start off a discussion on the panellists' experiences of discrimination in the 80's as compared to present day, specifically in regards to the recent transphobic graffiti on campus.

Please join us for a night of reflection on these issues, and how different sectors of our community can stand together for strength and action against all kinds of phobia.
