Glasgow Frontrunners host the Rainbow Relay Run on Sunday 17th Feb 2019 and help us celebrate LGBT History Month. Due to the unavailability of the Winter Gardens and no suitable replacement venue or course this year, we’ll be putting on a regular run which is, as always, open to any friends and allies who would like to join us. To support runners and walkers of all abilities we will have 5km, 7.5km and 10km distances. As always, we ask that you wear a colour of the rainbow and this year we’re asking you to choose your colour based on your star sign. This year, for each colour we’ve also associated two LGBT activists or icons who we think have significantly influenced LGBT rights, visibility or culture in their lifetime and beyond. Please check below for your colour and, if you have the time and don’t already know their stories, please read about the 12 iconic LGBT people below. RED – Aries & Virgo; Karl Heinrich Ulrichs & Barbara Gittings ORANGE – Taurus & Leo; Harvey Milk & Magnus Hirschfeld YELLOW – Gemini & Sagittarius; Audre Lorde & Bayard Rustin GREEN – Cancer & Capricorn; Christine Jorgensen & Marsha P Johnson BLUE – Scorpio & Aquarius; Michael Sam & Peter Tatchell GREEN – Libra & Pisces; Alan Turing & Oscar Wilde Please invite as many friends and allies as you like. They are welcome and encouraged to join us.
