STUC LGBT+ Committee Film Screening: Coming Oot!

As part of LGBT History Month, the STUC LGBT+ Workers Committee are hosting a screening of Coming Oot! A Fabulous History of Gay Scotland.

The screening of the documentary will be followed by a panel discussion, contrasting historic LGBT+ struggles in Scotland with the present day challenges that LGBT+ people in Scotland are currently facing and organising against.

While there has been undoubtable progress in the fight for LGBT+ rights in Scotland over the last 40 years, attacks from the right are threatening a roll back of rights for trans people and are creating an increasingly hostile environment for all gender non-conforming people. Lesbian, gay and bisexual people are still routinely facing harassment and attacks while just living their lives. Asylum seeking LGBT+ people are still being punished by a punitive immigration system.

Let's come together to celebrate our history, and to discuss how we fight for the future.

Panel line up TBC.
