Join University of Glasgow's School of Physics & Astronomy and LGBTQ CERN to visit the world's largest scientific instrument: the Large Hadron Collider.
Dr Clara Nellist is the ATLAS Experiment's Outreach Coordinator and chair of LGBTQ CERN. She will join us live from 100 metres underground at the Large Hadron Collider. Aidan Robson is Professor of Particle Physics at UofG and one of the university's LGBT role models.
In this unique event, Clara and Aidan will introduce you to the Large Hadron Collider and the ATLAS Experiment, and to Glasgow's role in these and in the discovery of the Higgs boson. They will also outline LGBTQ CERN's activities, and there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
Everyone is welcome - no prior scientific knowledge assumed!
