Year of Stories 2022 - #DykeTalesScotland - Stirling

Bohemia Media and film Producer, Siobhan Fahey are bringing award winning feature documentary REBEL DYKES to MacRobert Arts Centre in Stirling on 21 Feb.

As part of LGBT History Month Scotland and Year of Stories 2022, Siobhan will be sharing a Creative Oral History Workshop. This Creative Oral History Workshop has been designed with OurStory Scotland.

The workshop will introduce the creative possibilities of oral history sharing. Siobhan will share some extracts from the OurStory Scotland archive and the Rebel Dykes History Project CiC archive.

Siobhan will provide some background on what oral history is and some of the issues involved, plus how to carry out oral history how it can be used in archives and creatively. We will all have a go at using a simple exercise in collecting oral history.

Please bring a Smart Phone (android or iPhone) with you.

REBEL DYKES (18+) is a rabble-rousing documentary set in 1980s post-punk London. The unheard story of a community of dykes who met doing art, music, politics and sex, and how they went on to change their world.

The film is inspiring and great fun, and grew from an Oral History Project. The film has had 4* reveiws from Time Out London, The Guardian, Socialist Worker, NME, Total Films.
